The incidental Case of Olivia Dansfield

I've received some great feedback on my short story The incidental Case of Olivia Dansfield. I'm just testing the waters and will definitely write another novel featuring Camille and Layla.

Spring on my mind..

Maybe because it's only 19 degrees outside and I'm snowed in..  I'm thinking about Spring.

 'Give me the splendid silent sun, with all his beams full-dazzling;
Give me juicy autumnal fruit, ripe and red from the orchard;
Give me a field where the unmow’d grass grows;
Give me an arbor, give me the trellis’d grape;
Give me fresh corn and wheat—give me serene-moving animals, teaching content;
Give me nights perfectly quiet, as on high plateaus west of the Mississippi, and I looking up at the stars;
Give me odorous at sunrise a garden of beautiful flowers, where I can walk undisturb’d;
Give me for marriage a sweet-breath’d woman, of whom I should never tire;
Give me a perfect child—give me, away, aside from the noise of the world, a rural, domestic life;
Give me to warble spontaneous songs, reliev’d, recluse by myself, for my own ears only;"

-Walt Whitman

Read the first three chapters of The Last Firefly..

Chyna is a survivor, toughened by a lifelong struggle for safety and self-respect. Now she will be tested as never before. At first her sole aim is to get out alive—until, by chance, she learns the identity of Vess’s next intended victim, a faraway innocent only she can save. Driven by a newly discovered thirst for meaning beyond mere self-preservation, Chyna musters every inner resource she has to save an endangered girl . . . as moment by moment, the terrifying threat of Edgler Foreman Vess intensifies.

Writing break music..."Realize"...

Take time to realize
That your warmth is
Crashing down on me
Take time to realize
That I am on your side
Didn't I, didn't I tell you?
But I can't spell it out for you
No, it's never gonna be that simple
No, I can't spell it out for you

Short stuff...

Along with working on my novel, I'm also going to be releasing a few short stories. I'll post the links and other info as soon as they are complete. All of my shorts will be free reads. Keep checking back for more details.

News & Updates February 2018

I'm working  on a few projects including a short story featuring Camille and Layla from "The Last Firefly." This little short is actually a prequel to the Last Firefly. It's sort of a way for people who haven't read the book to get to know the characters.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to send me an e-mail regarding my work. I know a few people wanted to know about the audiobooks:unfortunately  Audible isn't available in South Korea, China or the Philippines. My books are available on all of the international  Amazon sites as well as Audible and I-tunes. If that changes I will certainly let you  know.

Thanks so much for the lovely e- greeting cards congratulating me on becoming a new pet parent. Yes, my little kitty is doing well. She has brought a lot of sunshine into my home.

Mother Nature..

Mother Nature must have been listening to my complaints about the weather..Because the next few days the temps are going to be up in the 60's and 70's. Those are record breaking temps for February in New York.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. We're supposed to get about six inches of snow. I'm just not a fan of the Winter. Although, the snow is pretty and nice to look at I'd rather it be sunny and warm. I can't stand clearing my car off and waiting for it to heat up. I found this wonderful little broom  that works really well it's called a Snow Joe.

I enjoying working out and I just started yoga. I'll let you know how I like it. I never wanted to do it, because it seemed rather boring. I need something that's fast-paced and full of motion... But maybe this will be a nice edition to my routine.  I shall spend the day working on my new novel, doing some yoga and trying to stay warm. Sending warmth and good vibes your way.

All things Valentine's Day...One of my favorite love songs..

"It's been seven hours and fifteen days
Since you took your love away
I go out every night and sleep all day
Since you took your love away
Since you been gone I can do whatever I want
I can see whomever I choose
I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant
But nothing
I said nothing can take away these blues
'Cause nothing compares
Nothing compares to you
It's been so lonely without you here
Like a bird without a song
Nothing can stop these lonely tears from falling.
Tell me baby where did I go wrong."
Congratulations to Cassandra Johnson on winning the MHS audiobook. She said the best gift she received on Valentine's Day was her engagement ring.  Thanks to everyone who entered and for stopping by my blog.

Writing break music..

I get a little tongue twisted
Every time I talk to you when I see you
And I'm so glad that you just missed it
The way I stared to memorize your face
To kiss you in my mind
Love you all the time

Lovely creature..

  After losing my dog of 17 years.. I figured down the road I'd get a puppy. I still consider myself a dog person and not really a cat person. That said, this beautiful little creature stumbled into my life as a stray. When she was found she was extremely underweight and full of fleas. She also had a nasty little wound on one of her paws. She was so skittish I had to put her food bowl beneath the kitchen table, because she wouldn't come out. That was almost five months ago. Now she has put on some weight  is thriving and a lot more outgoing. Isn't she gorgeous? I think she's a Norwegian Forest cat mix.

A very relatable tale regardless of where you come from. Made me think back to times where I wanted a do-over in my life also made me reminisce about childhood friendships that shaped me into who I am today. The authors writing was beautifully descriptive. Highly recommend.

The Last Firefly...

One thing I absolutely  loved about The Last Firefly is watching the progression of the characters. We first meet Chris, Luke and Camille as teenagers; later when we meet them again, they're in their 30's. The world around them has changed and life may or may not have turned out the way they expected it to.
